What would a completely cynical money-maxxing politics blogger blame leftism on, in theory?

It occurred to me recently that “memeticism”, here defined as the claim that all or most political differences are due to differences in exposure to ideas, is almost always advanced by verbally tilted figures. Such figures typically write a lot of words, but produce little or no scientific, quantitative research.

Why is this? Part of it may be ignorance. Part of it may be more sinister…
